Prescriptions

You can obtain a repeat prescription by

  • Ordering over the internet using the EMIS Access service. Those interested in this facility need to be registered for the service – to do this please ask at reception for a registration link.
  • Tearing off the repeat prescription request form (i.e. the green tear-off slip to the right of your prescription) and posting it to us or placing it into the repeat prescribing box situated at reception. Please ensure that the items you require are requested clearly by ticking the appropriate box on the repeat request form, or if you do not have a repeat request form, please ensure that your name, address and the items you require are clearly indicated.
  • Phoning and leaving a message (including your name, address, date of birth and the item(s) you require) on the repeat prescription line (phone 028 44830230 – option 2)
  • Asking at the front desk

In order to process the large number of requests each day please note that 48 hours notice is required for repeat prescription requests. Due to the high volume of requests received by the practice each day, you should note that you will be asked to call back if you request your prescription earlier than the times indicated above.

Acute Prescription Requests

From time to time, for acute and episodic problems, it is necessary to request prescription items that are not on a repeat list. We may call you back if there is something that we would like to clarify – please be prepared to leave a number by which you can be accessed. Acute requests should be made before 1100 and can be collected after 1400 at the surgery or at Crossgar Pharmacy after 1600. Please ensure that you clearly state your preference for place of collection.

Collection of Prescriptions

To improve the experience for everyone concerned we will give you a range of options in respect of collection of your prescription. You should choose between collection at the Surgery and collection from local pharmacies. For collection from local pharmacies the prescription will be placed in a box for that pharmacy and it will be available for collection after the chosen pharmacy has arranged to collect the prescription from Crossgar Surgery
